Our project in Morocco leverages the country's strategic location on global trade routes and its advantageous free-trade agreements with Europe and the USA. The Moroccan government offers attractive incentives, including direct subsidies on a percentage of capital expenditures, tax-free zones with a five-year tax exemption and 0% VAT, and special economic zones that eliminate export duties. Additionally, the fast-track permitting process facilitates quick project initiation. With a commitment to generating 63% of its energy from renewable sources by 2030, Morocco is making significant investments in the electric vehicle supply chain, aiming for a car production target of 1 million vehicles in 2024. This combination of supportive policies and growth potential makes Morocco an ideal location to build our planned anode plant.

Technology Cooperation Agreement

In September 2024, Falcon Energy Materials plc announced a comprehensive technical and strategic agreement with Hensen Graphite & Carbon Corporation to develop an anode plant in Morocco.

Partnership Purpose: The collaboration focuses on building an anode plant that will produce coated spherical purified graphite (CSPG).

About Hensen: Hensen, a leading CSPG producer, has a successful track record in constructing and operating anode plants in China, including the upcoming Weihai Plant, expected to be operational in Q4 2024.

Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA): Published in January 2025 and completed by TME and Anzaplan, the PEA will target an annual production of 25,000 tonnes of CSPG and will make appropriate allowances for the qualification of the CSPG with end-users. Hensen and Falcon will leverage the design, procurement strategy and existing supply chain of the recently built Weihai Plant to develop the most advanced production facility outside of China with the lowest development and operating costs.
